Hello. My name is Robert Norgaard. I am a trauma-informed, psychodynamic, and CBT-informed therapist using EMDR as a treatment option. I am a client centered therapist who is motivational, present, and active in the work. I believe that making connections to our past informs our present and future states of existence. I will be there right by your side as we explore the fabric of what makes you YOU.
I am a classically trained, psychodynamic clinician who also uses CBT methods and methodologies when appropriate. I am also a Certified EMDR clinician (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), treating trauma-based issues and diagnosis. I use an attachment-based lens to explore folks dealing with relationship issues.
Clients should expect to do most of the talking in our first session but also throughout the work. My goal as a therapist is to mediate thought and to get out of the way of insight processing and architecting. Clients will enjoy interpretations of their processing and guidance throughout the work.
