I have been in private practice since 1986, over 30 years. My specialty is helping individuals who suffer from the whole spectrum of anxiety disorders. Any therapist "worth their salt" is one who has been tested by fire and has lived through a transformative experience so that they can truly share their wisdom with others. When I speak about anxiety to a client, I've been there. I am an expert on anxiety, fear, phobias, and panic.

I have found the theories and practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to be a welcome addition to my toolbox. CBT is a short-term, solutions-oriented form of therapy. There is empirical evidence that CBT is effective for a variety of problems, including anxiety.

I am a long-term practitioner of meditation and have participated in numerous retreats and workshops. Sharing my experience as a meditator has been especially rewarding to me and beneficial to my clients.

I use a form of verbal CBT (no homework sheets) based on the Work by Byron Katie and her book, "Loving What Is". In session we are able to focus like a laser on destructive, torturous thoughts like "I shouldn't be this way", or "People should be nice". These thoughts contradict reality and reality rules!
