Reaching out for help is the first therapeutic act. It takes courage, vulnerability and trust. Successful therapy is dependent on trust and vulnerability and at the core of this is feeling understood and accepted. In our first session I will give you a picture of what to expect from our work together and provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can talk about what you are currently struggling with. As your therapist, my job is to offer you my mind, my attention, my empathy and my honesty in service of your growth and development.
Difficulties can arise when strategies for managing overwhelming feelings in early life have become repetitive cycles that make it difficult to achieve your current goals and foster deep connections with others. Our goal in working together is to cultivate a more flexible and adaptive mind that can bear the inevitable uncertainties and difficulties of life.
Care is a central value in my work with individuals and couples. It is my belief that care is a human right. I work with all individuals and couples over the age of 18. I have successfully worked with a wide variety of psychological disorders and individuals and couples with diverse backgrounds and orientations.
