My first career was in engineering. One thing that experience made clear is that when a system keeps breaking down in the same way, the problem is never really on the surface. The surface is just where you notice it. I bring that understanding into my work with clients. Repeating patterns, whether in how you feel, how you respond under stress, or how you and a partner keep getting stuck, are not signs that something is wrong with you. They are signals pointing to something deeper that has not yet been worked with. Working with those signals, rather than around them, is where real and lasting change tends to happen.
That deeper work is where I focus. I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and AEDP, approaches that work directly with what is happening underneath behavior and thought. We start with what feels most overwhelming right now. Then, as you feel steadier, we turn toward what has been driving those patterns and begin working with it.
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, overwhelm, and the lasting impact of difficult experiences. I also work with couples who feel caught in painful cycles of conflict or distance. As we understand what is happening underneath those struggles, new ways of responding begin to open up, along with more steadiness, connection, and emotional safety.
