I have always gained great satisfaction from helping people feel happier and in learning more effective ways to achieve more fulfilling lives. Those clients who are eager and open to learning more about themselves in order to achieve these goals benefit most from my approach as a therapist. I often focus, therefore, on insight, meaning, and symbols (including dream interpretation)in order to help clients establish a more positive and accepting perspective of themselves and others. In therapy, I work with obstacles against achieving these goals that include anxiety, depression, addictions, anger, and interpersonal and relationship issues.
I am eclectic with regard to the kinds of problems with which I work and the treatment modalities that I use which include cognitive-behavioral therapy, visualization methods, and psychodynamic/insight approaches. My interventions are tailored to the individual, their education and background, and the kinds of problems presented.
Those qualities that are unique to me that have enabled me to become a successful psychologist, based on what I have learned from clients over the years, include that of being a good listener and as having a keen perceptiveness and understanding about people.
