Hello, I am Robert Gastelum. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in practice since 1982. I assist clients interested in exploring how the patterns of our lives limit our development of options. I view our family experiences as the source of our primary approach to life. I focus on how to proceed beyond thinking and behaviors limiting our growth. These days, I find myself working primarily with adults whether younger or older. My experiences have ranged from working with children and parents to working with adolescents, and now, the senior community (of which I have become a member).
Our shared experiences of past and present become available to provide context to our current experiences of security and distress. The achievement of "being present" is a significant goal to be accomplished.
I believe we are doing well during the session when each of us shares a therapeutic experience. I want my clients to know I am competent in being in charge of the session while they become competent in being in charge of their lives.
