I have hope when working with people who are going through intense emotion such as of anger, anxiety, or depression. I'm optimistic when working with folks who experience this because I believe in strengths-based counseling, and I've witnessed many people grow their strength to be able to process those emotions. Though the emotion difficulties can be similar across people I work with, the reasons each person feels this way are unique, and I want to hear your story.
As a clinician I'm very change-oriented. That is to say that while learning to cope with a painful situation is good, it still leaves you in a painful situation. I'll work with you to determine what therapy model best fits the way you understand the world. As part of that, we'll collaborate on setting goals and enacting change in your life.
I understand that not all painful situations can be changed completely. However, we can change components of our life to seek greater meaning and purpose. Together, you and I will explore how the values you hold can lead you to a more fulfilling life.
