My training and professional experiences has afforded me the opportunity to work in a variety of settings serving adolescents, adults and seniors with a broad array of challenges and struggles in their lives. Whether they have symptoms of anxiety, depression or Schizoaffective Disorder they are looking to me to help them navigate those challenges that are posed by their mental health issues. Regardless the diagnosis or their unique situation I will work with them to develop concrete goals that they want to achieve and help them to see therapy as the roadmap to help them get there.
I primarily view my work from a Cognitive Behavioral perspective, but will use interventions from different orientations if it better suits the client and their unique set of circumstances. Ultimately, my focus is to help that person with identifying their strengths and facilitate bringing them to bear to address their vulnerabilities.
I believe it takes a lot of courage to seek therapy. So meeting the client where they're at is critical. I want to build a level of rapport so that the client feels comfortable and safe opening up to me. I see myself working collaboratively with the client in helping them reach the goals and objectives they identified earlier.
