Since we are not all identical, I use an Eclectic, or Integrative approach, blending elements of several therapeutic methods to fit the individual needs and preferences of my clients. My therapeutic influences include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt, Motivational Interviewing, and Family Systems, among others. I endeavor to help my clients feel empowered to make the changes they wish to their lives and tap into their own creative potential to move their lives in the direction they choose.
I mostly work with adults and older adolescents, encouraging them to develop insight into ways to live their lives more effectively and satisfyingly. I believe that change is inevitable, but we have the ability to choose how we change.
I am a friendly, informal person, and I strive to help anyone I work with feel accepted and respected. I invite my clients to freely share their concerns, including about treatment, and their hopes about how they wish to be helped. I try to help them identify goals and options to help them move toward the life they would prefer.
