For over 35 years, I have helped people of all ages to ease their burdens, face doubt and overcome emotional afflictions with warmth, empathy, and safety. I believe compassion is the cornerstone of a trusting relationship. More recently I have been guiding people to happier, more meaningful lives and relationships by focusing on their often unrealized strengths to facilitate change, have them live more consciously, and become who they want to be.
Although well-trained and experienced in psychodynamic, cognitive, and existential/humanistic therapy approaches, I find that 35+ years of practice have led me to abandon therapy "techniques" in favor of using my knowledge, understanding, compassion, and sense of humor to connect with others in a very personal and human way.
I see myself as working with people who want to learn, grow, and change, rather than treating "patients with disorders."
