Life Giving Therapy is my philosophy of working deeply with and relating to you. I believe the therapeutic process is one of the most profound 'journeys' taken in life. People seek therapy for a number of reasons: stressors, trauma, identity, changes, wholeness, and overall to improve life. I want to walk with you on that journey. As a highly trained professional, I have been given an incredible responsibility in working with individuals through important times in their lives. My hope is to bring you into the fullness of life by helping you re-integrate lost/broken/hurting parts of yourself.

I believe strongly that healing/growth occurs in the context of authentic relating. Therapy is an unfolding relationship of mutual trust. I am skilled in working with personality disorders (long standing ways of protecting the self), male issues, substance use/abuse and recovery, spirtuality, LGBTQ, adolescents, family, and couples.

I specialize in working from relational psychodynamic and gestalt/existential treatment modalities. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is utilized for skill building when warranted. My passion lies in long-term depth oriented psychotherapy but I also enjoy short-term intensive therapy. Therapy is tailored to each individual client's needs.

Robert A W Cochran's Groups

Men's Interpersonal Therapy Group

This group is an interpersonal process group. The purpose of the group is for men to press past boundaries of disclosure that we often set up for ourselves and embrace authenticity and vulnerability with one another. Group members will be encouraged to stay in the moment and address interpersonal aspects of group communication. In doing so, new relational patterns and possibilities often emerge in the individual's life outside of group. Confidentiality is of paramount importance and group members will be carefully screened to gauge whether the group is a good fit to work on the issues they are experiencing.
