Announcement icon I am offering tele-therapy by video and/or phone to clients during this time. I'm a provider for Carefirst/BlueCross and Cigna.
Many stressors can interfere with your mental well-being, even without the added weight of the coronavirus, the economy, and social distancing. Telehealth therapy by video can help. Many people who are overly anxious, depressed, self-critical, worried, or distractible have been helped by Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), interpersonal, or solution-focused therapy. These can help professionals, healthcare providers, young people, and parents manage anxiety, panic, depressed mood, ADHD, perfectionism and other problems. My approach involves thoughts, feelings, and behavior, informed by advances in neuroscience applied to psychology.
Each client should expect to be heard in a supportive manner and encouraged to deal with their concerns. My clinical psychology PhD from George Mason U., backed by a neuroscience doctorate from the University of Chicago, teaching at the GWU School of Medicine, and years of professional experience helps me relate both brain and mind to people's well-being.
Two-way communication and step-by-step evidence-based treatment can be effective for challenging issues like anxiety, panic, depression, and difficult behavior. My publications discuss how teletherapy can help during social distancing, anxiety, PTSD, the neuroscience of mental health, technology, and education. A free 10-minute phone consult is available.
