As a therapist, I believe you already have the skills, talents, and abilities to cope with change. My role is to support you and help you use your strengths. Counseling is an active process, but it should not be a scary one; I will work hard to be a warm, realistic, and accepting part of your support system. I have diverse experiences working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. I welcome clients from diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
Everyone's experiences are valid, and I am willing to do the work to create trust and security with my clients. I enjoy working with tweens and teens, including recognizing gender identity and LGBTQ concerns, working with mothers and families experiencing perinatal mood disorder (a.k.a. “postpartum depression”-I love it when babies make guest appearances!)
I believe down-to-earth, realistic, and direct communication is the most effective way to identify goals in therapy. My goal is to help you feel relaxed, accepted, and welcome in your sessions.
