What I bring to my work in over 25 years of working with people is clarity, competence, personal warmth and an ability to draw from a wide range of effective approaches. I have had particular success with couples, teenage girls and individuals in recovery. My approach is both personable and effective.
I use EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) when working with issues of trauma, abuse, PTSD and negative beliefs. I include a focus on nutrition and brain health (using assessments from Daniel Amen, MD) as an adjunct to psychotherapy. My approach is integrative in that I tailor my approaches to the needs of the whole person.
I specialize in working with people in recovery (chemical addictions, sex addictions, co-dependancy, adult children of alcoholics) and am very familiar with 12-step programs and philosophy. Couples therapy is also an area of specialization.
