Ride The Wave Recovery: Professional Clinical Counselor PC offers group, individual, and family therapy to clients of all genders living with or in recovery from eating disorders, addictions, codependency, and trauma. "Ride the wave" is an expression that reminds us that sorrow, pain, happiness, triggers, relapses, slips, high highs, low lows, and everything in-between need not be waves that consume us, overtake us, define us, or drown us; rather we can gently and skillfully navigate these waves, from the surface, as if on a psychological surfboard, with the help of others, our Wise Mind, our Higher Power, or Self keeping us afloat.

Group Psychotherapy is a fundamental aspect of Ride The Wave Recovery. Outpatient Groups Offered at RtW: Women in Recovery; Emotional Sobriety; Radical Recovery; Codependent No More; DBT Mindfulness & Skills 20-Session Series and more. Please visit the website for more details!

RtW is committed to providing its therapeutic services to a diverse community of those in recovery in Santa Cruz & Oakland; we proudly serve trans, non-binary and cis clients, clients of various sexual orientations, as well as those from a wide array of cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds.

Ride The Wave Recovery's Groups

Radical Recovery

This process group is for those recovering from eating disorders, addictions, codependency and trauma who identify as Queer, Gender Expansive, Trans*, Poly, Kinky, and/or otherwise subverting of hegemonic "norms," wherein an explicit aspect of the group is looking at recovering from larger oppressive systems, in addition to internal personal symptoms. The group also explores how to incorporate Radical Acceptance into a counter (dominant) cultural belief system. The group is open to monogamous, cis, non-kinky, and/or het clients who may identify as subversive in some way(s) and would like to align their recovery with their belief systems.

This is an all-gender group. All potential group members need to be assessed before joining this closed group. This group is run by Katherine.
