I love to work with all people. My specialty is working with people who have experienced trauma (abuse, violence, etc.), people in the LGBTQIA+ community, and people living with HIV. I enjoy seeing people work through sexual shame, navigating complex relationship orientations, and overcoming religious trauma.
I believe people are resilient and have an incredible internal power to overcome and heal.
I have an eclectic approach to therapy. Depending on the need, I utilize techniques from person-centered, CBT, REBT, DBT, IFS techniques. I am EMDR trained and love to use this method, as appropriate, to help people through their traumatic stories. I believe that being genuine and present are the best ways to show up for folks.
I believe in people, in the inherent goodness and resilience that people possess. Sometimes folks can forget this about themselves and others. Many times our brains can lie to us and tell us we aren’t enough, not worthy, that shame will always win. There is nothing better than watching someone awake to their own strength and purpose.
