Many of my patients are troubled by low self-esteem. We are often hard on ourselves and need to learn to be more accepting of our own limitations. Being compassionate with ourselves goes hand in hand with becoming kinder and more caring with others. The most common emotional disturbances that lead people to seek therapy are anxiety, depression, and anger management problems. The solution to these troubles involve four categories of irrational thinking. They are tyrannical shoulds, poor frustration tolerance ( I can't stand it), awfulizing/catastrophizing, and harsh rating of ourselves (putting ourselves down).
Helping my patients develop unconditional self-regard is the guiding principle for our work together. They learn how to be more clear thinking and self-accepting, more able to adapt to the challenges in their lives, and to develop mutually satisfying personal relationships with family, fellow coworkers, and coworkers.
I welcome individuals to reach out to me by phone or email in order to set up an appointment to begin the process of growth and learning that I offer my patients.
