About
Call upon your courage as you greet the tasks of work, friendship, and intimacy while overcoming the slings and arrows which life's inevitable misfortunes lay upon us. Overcome suffering in the snares set by Fear, Anger, Despair, and their kin. Encouragement is the key that fosters hopeful striving and nourishes our potential for a meaningful life. Courage grows through relationship. I bring encouragement, authenticity, understanding, compassion, and wisdom born of a lifetime of study and personal and professional experience to the counseling relationship.
My orientation is a Humanistic integration rooted in Adlerian, and Existential-phenomenological Psychology. I focus on what nourishes psychological and emotional growth, particularly through relationships such as parenting, marriage, work and friendship. I also offer professional consultation and supervision toward licensure.
For 20 years I worked with severely disturbed and alienated adults in a community residential setting - 17 of those were as Clinical Director hiring, training, and supervising the clinical staff. Over the last 26 years I've counseled individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents in both agency and private psychotherapy practice.
