I was going through a very hard time about ten years ago when suddenly everything shifted for me. I saw my suffering as a gateway into the parts of myself that I would not have seen were it not for the pain I was feeling. That is when I realized our suffering is the path to our healing. I realized I could be helpful to my fellow humans and went back to school to study counseling psychology, got my degree, and have been practicing for ten years.
I am very transparent and provide plenty of psycho-education. I like to have an ongoing conversation that grows from week to week as our relationship deepens and trust and safety emerge. I've been told talking to me is like having some wise friend you can ask anything.
Collaborative! We set goals together. That being said, the goal is always to find things in your subconscious mind that are driving behaviors you'd like to change and bring those things into the light of consciousness so that healthier decisions can be made going forward.
