I would describe my practice as helping people work through life issues in ways that promote relational, emotional and spiritual growth. My clinical areas of interest include spirituality, depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. I also specialize in working with men's issues. I apply a Christian/faith-based approach to counseling and am trained in both theology and professional counseling. I am an ordained minister and pastoral counselor. I don't impose my beliefs on clients, and respect all faith/spiritual traditions as valuable resources for healing. Areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, childhood abuse, personality disorders, faith crisis, marriage, family, adolescent, and relationship issues.
My primary counseling orientation is psychodynamic, although I am also trained in narrative, solution-focused, and cognative-behavioral methods of counseling. I also use Mindfulness training as part of the counseling process. My personal counseling style is quiet, caring, and growth-oriented. I have been described by clients as professional, relational, pastoral, and insightful.
I think what distinguishes my practice from other Christian/faith-based counselors is that I don't have a rigid or dogmatic approach to my care for people. I am a seeker of spiritual truth, and believe God loves all people, regardless of their religion or faith tradition.

I work with clients who may be struggling with depression, anxiety or trauma related to work, family relationships, or life circumstances. In our initial session we will dive deeply into issues, and then work together to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my clients start to feel better and gain a deeper understanding of themselves as a result.

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and psychodynamic Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we will decide together the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT we'll look at how your thoughts effect your emotions. With psychodynamic, we will explore how childhood and life experiences may have an unconscious impact on problems you are experiencing.
