Richard J. DioGuardi
Psychologist, PhD
I am a clinical psychologist licensed in New York, offering comprehensive psychological services for children, adolescents, and adults. I am committed to helping people struggling with a variety of individual, family, and relationship difficulties. Because an individual's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, my approach involves collaboratively helping clients achieve healthy change in all three areas. I also firmly believe that a warm, accepting, and non-judgmental approach is critical for therapeutic success. In my practice, evaluations, psychotherapy, and psychological testing are provided in a professional, confidential and comfortable environment.
Some of my specialty areas include: childhood disruptive behavior disorders (including ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Disorder), depression, anxiety, phobias, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), stress and anger management, social skills and assertiveness training, parent training, behavior modification, and psychoeducational testing.
I am currently an active member of the New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA), serving on the Council of Representatives and the NYSPA Foundation. I am also a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Westchester County Psychological Association (WCPA).
