I understand the difficulty some people may have seeking counseling. The therapeutic journey begins with the decision to seek help. After making an appointment, the next major step is entering the counselor’s office. My goal of therapy is not to cure anyone, but rather to help people cope more effectively with specific issues and concerns. I help people find hope, clarity, understanding, and emotional courage. My therapeutic approach is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which is founded in the notion that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors. Essentially, when the client is ready "change is a just a thought away".
I have a great deal of experience with Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders. I received my Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) certification in 1999. I am also a court appointed forensic evaluator.
My associate is a Spanish speaking Licensed Mental Health Counselor who provides interpretive services on an as needed basis for testing and evaluations..
