I have worked in private practice as a psychologist for over thirty years. Most of my clients find my “explore-in-the-moment” approach refreshing and transformational. By distinguishing old coping patterns from new experience and encouraging clients to explore rather than explain themselves, personal development naturally unfolds. This approach offers clients the opportunity to explore at the edge of the unknown and beyond the world they know. The unknown is the source of all change and the known is the past.
I am trained in systems-centered therapy which takes a collaborative approach to change by offering methods for centering and exploring at the edge of the unknown. This method enables people to free energy bound in old coping patterns to explore authentic experience often hidden behind the stories of who we think we are.
SCT differs from many forms of therapy in its emphasis on exploring the unknown rather than explaining what we already know, and in the emphasis on joining around similarities rather than fighting over differences. Groups
SCT® Therapy and SCT® Training groups.
I lead SCT® therapy groups are for people working to develop themselves personally, and SCT® training groups for people interested in learning the Theory of Living Human Systems and its application through direct participation in a SCT training experience. Both contexts emphasize exploring experience directly with others (called "subgrouping"). This method allows members to discover new experience as a shared experience and greatly reduces the anxiety and resistence associated with change.
