I currently have training in CBT, DBT, EMDR and Motivational Interviewing.
Welcome! People that come to me usually have a history of trauma and/or addiction and are seeking a support system to help them cope. I also work well with people that experience depression and anxiety, as well as mood disorders. I love helping people learn new coping skills and finding new ways to rediscover the passion and motivation in their lives. I have experience working with those that are transitioning out of the prison environment or have criminal thinking patterns as well.

Hello and welcome! Sejam Bem-Vindos! I am passionate about human’s mind and behavior. I believe that we can start a new beginning by finding inner balance and investing in ourselves with a holistic view. Together we will work on uncovering the real cause of traumatic stress disorders and feelings of depression, anxiety, hyperactivity, lost, grief and impulsivity. The therapeutic environment is empowered by your intention and inner strengths. I, as the therapist, will guide you to the way of healing moving you beyond trauma by engaging the bodily process of disturbing memories - healthy interaction of the mind, emotions and body.

My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental place for you to explore ways to feel better and to understand your distress. Working together, we will find the path that works best for you.

You have probably been wondering about getting some help for some time. You have some worries that just aren't going away, are harder to manage, and your life, in general, is getting away from you. You are miserable and the things you have been doing to cope all this time aren't working any more. If you are a parent, your child is getting older, their school may be calling you more, and you just don't know where to turn. You have the motivation to improve your life but the way forward is not clear and you can't handle moving backwards anymore.

Often there are times the obstacles we face can feel so overwhelming that we can not see the solutions. I believe we all hold the answers to resolving life's challenges inside of us. I view my role as supporting people through the process of facing difficult life events, guiding them to uncovering the solutions and working together to overcome these obstacles.

"The true warrior accepts what he (she) is in ultimate humility, not as grounds for regret, but as a living challenge" - Carlos Casteneda. Treatment issues require an empathic listener. I am most effective in connecting with clients. I see a therapist's role as supporting clients in their grief and helping them identify realistic expectations of self /others in a non-judgemental and affirming atmosphere. My undergraduate degree was Anthropology, helping me at cross cultural problem solving. Employment in Community Mental Health and inpatient hospital care settings I have worked with medical/psychiatric difficulties:

EMDR Therapists
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an information processing therapy that helps clients cope with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During this treatment, the patient focuses on a specific thought, image, emotion, or sensation while simultaneously watching the therapist's finger or baton move in front of his or her eyes. The client is told to recognize what comes up for him/her when thinking of an image; then the client is told to let it go while doing bilateral stimulation.
