I am a licensed and board certified diplomate clinical social worker who has been in the mental health field for over 28 years. Before starting in private practice 2005, I worked in community mental health centers, schools, group homes, and inpatient units in medical and psychiatric hospitals. In my private practice, I provide psychotherapy for adults, children, and parents with a wide range of problems, including anxiety disorders, sexual abuse, depression and mood disorders, relationship issues, attentional difficulties, and childhood behavior problems.
My approach to therapy is a collaborative one, encompassing a cognitive behavioral orientation rooted in respect for the importance of the relationship I have with each client. My style is relaxed, warm, and straightforward, and is characterized by humor and pragmatism.
Therapy focuses on the here-and-now, with the goals of clients not only feeling better but also developing the skills that will allow them to maintain the changes they make in our work together. I am a participating provider with commercial Blue Cross and commercial united behavioral health.
