About
I practice evidence-based treatment rooted in science. My goals are to help clients alter negative repetitive patterns, defuse from overwhelming destructive behaviors, and create movement toward what is really important in their lives. I use acceptance and mindfulness skills, combined with behavior-change strategies, to help clients increase psychological flexibility. I believe that psychological suffering is caused by avoiding emotions and life experiences, which results in psychological rigidity, and greater suffering.
Expertise in Eating Disorders. I am one of the very few Maudsley-trained therapists providing Family-Based Treatment (FBT) in Michigan. Families and full nutrition are key ingredients, and I coach parents to provide FBT at home. I believe adults can recover from eating disorders.
