Maybe you're wondering how things got so out of alignment. Or, as one of my patients once put it, you'd really like to "unfuck your life" but aren't sure if that's even possible. Maybe you're navigating a relationship with substances, or loving someone who is. Or maybe you just have the sense that something fundamental needs to change, and that you're finally ready to take a first step. I work with adults in both short-term treatments and long-term depth therapy, psychoanalytic in orientation, and I'm interested in what's underneath: the patterns, the defenses, and what becomes possible when given the opportunity to develop a self.
Psychoanalytic work is relational at its heart—attuned to attachment, affect, and what gets repeated. I have a particular specialization in addiction and the complex psychology of families shaped by substance use, though many patients come for relationship challenges, anxiety, or depression. I bring rigor, curiosity, humor, and a sense of play to all of it.
I'm not here to fix you or hand you a framework. I'm passionate about psychotherapy as a practice of what John Stuart Mill called experiments in living—new possibilities emerging not just through insight but through finding a relational home in the therapy dyad, a relationship that changes us both.
