When it comes to therapy, I try to make the process as applicable as possible for the client in order to make them feel comfortable. A lot of the clients I see are working on difficult transitions in life, such as grief and loss, coping with stress from daily life, or working through their past. The clients I see are all motivated to not let their past, daily stressors, or negative habits define who they are! We will work through these issues in order to gain awareness, generate acceptance, and then take appropriate action in order to get the most out of life. I will go at your pace to allow for both comfort and development.
I specialize in substance use disorder, PTSD/EMDR therapy, LGBTQIA populations, and those that are experiencing anxiety, depression, and general stress. I also focus on how one's issues are intertwined, and how one's emotions and behavior interact with said issues. I try focus on all aspects of one's life to see how it is all potentially connected!
I understand that therapy can seem awkward or intimidating to those that have not done it before. What I always tell clients that are just starting is that therapy is nothing more than a structured conversation between two people. We will go at your pace, because if you aren't comfortable while in therapy the progress may not happen! Trust the process!
