With 13+ years of experience, I specialize in men's mental health, Veteran issues, trauma, and clinical supervision. While grounded in evidence-based practices, I believe healing begins with a strong therapeutic alliance. When fermenting, be it food or drink, the pressure has to go somewhere. You can have steady release, an airlock, or you can do bursts, burping the jar. If you don't the vessel can eventually crack and burst, affect the flavor, or lead to incomplete fermentation. It's crucially important to let out the pressure.
This isn't about fermentation.
