I provide brainspotting, reparenting, and TF-CBT to help meet my client's trauma needs, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy to help them meet any other needs.
My ideal client is someone who is motivated to see change in their lives. I strive to be trained in and implement various treatment modalities so as to provide the best path for their healing and growth. I understand each person's lived experience is different and even similarities to other people (i.e. DSM-5 diagnoses) are formed due to unique circumstances and reasons in each person's life. This is why I will always tailor treatment to best meet each person's needs.

I am Certified in Brainspotting (BSP), a highly effective modality in the treatment of trauma, complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety and panic attacks, along with many other types of emotional distress.
Ever feel out of control as if you might explode? Or so empty you might simply disappear? These are common symptoms of grief, unresolved trauma, anxiety, and stress. Brainspotting is a highly effective intervention for simple and complex trauma, as well as post traumatic stress and anxiety, It works without retraumatization. Grief and mourning often benefit from a trained companion. Counseling is a great way to prepare for marriage and assess or maintain an existing relationship. Call me and let's talk about how we can improve your life experience, whether healing from your past, enhancing your today, or preparing for your future.

I use somatic-based EMDR, Natural Processing, as a therapeutic technique to assist individuals in overcoming various challenges. Throughout our lives, we encounter situations that may cause harm or discomfort. While some of these experiences may seem inconsequential, others become apparent as problematic over time. When individuals begin to grapple with difficulties such as anxiety, depression, physical symptoms, stress reactions, or emotional intolerance, they may recognize the need for change.

I'm a specialized therapist who works primarily with neurodivergence, specifically ADHD, OCD, autism & borderline spectrums, and chronic depression, anxiety, & bipolar disorders. I also have expertise in complex trauma issues, often stemming from narcissistic family systems or relationship abuse. Many of my clients possess an excellent or above-average capacity for self-reflection and introspection. However, they feel their heightened self-awareness can sometimes backfire, magnifying feelings of powerlessness and frustration when they find themselves stuck in repetitive patterns and unable to make desired changes in their behaviors.

Not accepting new clients
My theoretical approaches are grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a generation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and somatic therapies like Brainspotting that easily integrate with other modalities.
Have you been doing your best to ignore, fight against or flee from your experience to the point you feel stuck? Do you feel that no matter how hard to try to step forward, you end up in those automatic daily patterns that lead to nowhere? Do you feel these patterns have damaged your relationships, caused you to lose meaning, to lose self, so you often feel lost, operating from numbness or hypervigilance? Exhausting right! I get it. I hear you. Life is challenging. It can be a dark and difficult place to be, and you don’t have to explore this alone. The therapeutic process can help you to reflect and gain space and reconnect.

Do you ever feel like you’re neglecting yourself? You work SO hard to put everyone else first but you end up forgetting about yourself or what you might need? You're consumed with worry about what others think about you. You wish you could stop caring, but that feels impossible/unrealistic. Your worry holds you back from finally feeling relaxed and fulfilled in your life and relationships. You might even be unsure about what you need but you know something needs to change.

Brainspotting Therapists

How does brainspotting work?

Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?

Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?

Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?

A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
