Hi, my name is Tasheena, I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC and am licensed in both West Virginia and South Carolina. I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Charleston and an MS in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I have experience providing therapy services to at-risk youth and their families within the court and corrections settings regarding substance use, behavioral issues, emotion regulation, relationships, communication, process addictions, and a variety of other issues depending on the client's needs.

I enjoy working with people involved in the justice system, service members, veterans and families, women and men in recovery from addictive behaviors and adolescents. I offer a safe environment where you will feel comfortable and can openly share without fear of judgment.

Kristin is a licensed professional counselor, nationally certified counselor, & certified trauma therapist. Her primary work has been with posttraumatic stress disorder, anxiety, supporting those through phase of life difficulties, sexuality/relationship issues, depression, & assisting those who have or care for those with long term chronic illness & injury. She creates an environment of warmth, caring, humor, & authenticity to help those that want to work on acute issues as well as those who are evolving to be their most grounded & true self. Kristin incorporates creative approaches (art, writing, meditation, guided imagery).

The longest journey begins with a single step and I am grateful to walk that path with you. It can be frightening and intimidating to begin the process of therapy; however, that experience can help you to make the changes that lead to a happier and more fulfilled life. Through a collaborative and safe relationship I establish with my clients, progress and change is made. Areas of practice include mood disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, men's concerns, and ADHD and cognitive functioning (including testing services). I also enjoy working with clients from adolescents to seniors.

I work with clients who may be struggling with addictions or trauma as well as anxieties. During our initial sessions we will dive into the issues that are causing you to present for treatment and then collaborate on creating a plan that helps you get your life back. Most of my client see a gradual lifting of symptoms within a month and sustained improvement after that.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor currently licensed in West Virginia. I graduated from WVU with a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked in the school system, outpatient clinics, juvenile drug court, and now private practice. I firmly believe that there is not a “one size fits all” type of therapy, but that each individual deserves to be seen, heard, understood, and validated and the type of treatment will vary from person to person. I promise to always do my best to create a warm, inviting, accepting, empathetic, and safe environment for all of my clients.

I utilize therapy modalities such as CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, solution-focused, art, and interpersonal therapy techniques

I’ve had the joy of working in the counseling field for over 25 years in multiple settings including: private practice, inpatient and outpatient, home-based, school-based and residential detox. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the states of Ohio, West Virginia and North Carolina and have been offering counseling services since 1996. My philosophy of healing is like working your way through a set of nesting dolls from the outer doll representing why you want to heal: trauma, attachment/relationship injury, depression, grief, and anxiety. The next doll holds the symptoms, thoughts, and feelings of the first doll. The next doll may may hold your negative beliefs you have perceived about yourself, others, and the world. The next doll may hold consequences and life impairments. The final doll represents your core and authentic self. The person you would be without all of the other dolls in relationship to the unity of mind, soul, heart, body and spirit.
