I've had the privilege of being a mental health therapist for 11+ years in community mental health. I have experience working with a wide range of ages from 2 to 68 y/o in individual, family, group, & couples therapy. I use various approaches based on the unique needs of each individual & I enjoy working with people who experience a variety of symptoms, diagnoses, etc. My primary therapeutic approach is EMDR. I provide a non-judgmental environment for many different types of people & lifestyles. I also believe that it's incredibly important to love & accept yourself, regardless of where you are in the journey of self-improvement.
It's important to have a variety of tools in a therapeutic tool box to match techniques to each individual. Everyone is unique & deserves to be treated as such. I primarily use EMDR as well as other modalities. And it's my belief that building therapeutic rapport is the most important aspect of therapy, requiring a secure and non-judgmental environment.
My goal is to help people achieve self-acceptance while simultaneously working w/ them to achieve their own goals. Nothing gets in the way of personal growth like lingering feelings of shame, guilt & other negative core beliefs. I'm open to working with a variety of people & lifestyles including, but not limited to, the 'sex positive' & LGBTQ communities.
