I have a certification as a certified Sex Therapist and educator .(ASSECT) I work with new parents and families trying to become parents.

I am a family therapist who works with individuals, couples and families. I focus my practice on helping individuals improve their important relationships - with their children, with their spouses or with a significant other and with their parents. Helping clients with work relationships is also a significant part of my practice. I've facilitated sessions with several generations of married couples within one family. Important relationships influence a person's emotional and physical states, resulting in some cases in extreme distress. When people reduce their sensitivity to others, they can make dramatic improvements in directing their own emotional and physical wellbeing.

I am a practicing Gestalt therapist as well as a Registered Play therapist who works with adults and children that have experienced trauma and/or abuse, and present with symptoms of PDSD, anxiety, depression. When working with children I work closely with the parents or caregivers for best results. I also have experience with working closely with clients who have experienced traumatic births as well as birth workers and medical providers who witness traumatic births. I have attended over 30 births as a birth doula and I understand the process of birth for parents and providers.

My work with adults of all ages draws on the expressive arts, motivational and strengths-based therapies and cognitive behavioral and trauma-informed therapies. One of my passions has been exploring the ways in which the expressive arts - visual art, drama, music, movement, writing - touch us deeply and express emotions for which there may simply be no words. Where the response to suffering is compassion and hope, the goals of the individual - not the therapist - inspire the therapeutic process.

I believe each of us has a gift of Self to unwrap and embrace along life's journey, especially when we've lived through a life threatening event or a series of chronic traumas. I know first hand how impossible connecting to ourselves can seem afterward. We grieve the loss of a sense of safety and often believe that our identity has changed to what has happened to us. We fear life will always be tarnished and feel set apart by our shame.
