I work with clients whose lives are impacted by depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship issues and trauma.
I utilize a client-centered, trauma-informed approach to create a safe and supportive environment in which people can use both mind and body as an integrated vehicle to navigate self-exploration, healing, and optimum health. I value the process of self-growth as it allows us the opportunity to live fully and access greater joy in our lives.

The quality of the therapeutic relationship is key to personal growth.
The psychotherapy I do is depth-oriented, offered in a safe and peaceful setting, where we can build your sense of inner peace. We will uncover your family legacy, as well as the maladaptive patterns you are living that underlie your suffering. Within that context, we will practice awareness of the present moment and unhook you from the influences of the past. We can work to improve your relationships, clarify your life goals and help you find a sense of ease and confidence in yourself. If you are depressed and/or anxious, we will find the ways to release you from emotional pain and move toward personal fulfillment.

My specialties include depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, school/career stress, and adjusting to change.
As a therapist, my passion is helping clients develop a greater ability to understand themselves and handle what happens to them. I use an integrative approach which is grounded in research and shows that the most effective healing occurs in the context of a strong client-therapist relationship. Beginning therapy can be intimidating so I try to create a warm, safe space by using an empathic, nonjudgmental, and, at times, humorous approach. Clients have described my style as compassionate and supportive while also being honest and direct.

In our collaborative therapeutic relationship, I will encourage you to create a safe space where your mind and body takes ownership of your life's narrative.
My focus of interest is to become a therapeutic container to support the exploration of the mind-body connection within children and teens. I believe that the body carries valuable information about ourselves and our minds are actively trying to interpret it. I specialize in children who seek to improve their body awareness which provides coping skills for self-regulation, positive self-talk and overall physical/mental wellness. I have experience working with children with autism, adopted families, neurodivergent movers and people simply want a better connection with their bodies

I believe an important part of the therapy process is developing a flexible and collaborative relationship in which the client feels safe to explore, understand, and change relationships and behaviors, so that he or she may grow in a satisfying, creative, and life enhancing way. I have worked as a clinician for over twenty years and maintain a general practice for adults, families and children.

Having also worked with couples and families, I can provide the guidance necessary to work through difficult relationship dynamics.
The only constant in life is change. However, change can often be challenging and painful, leaving us feeling stuck in old patterns. I believe that every individual is capable of change, given the right tools and support. Utilizing a client-centered, humanistic, and trauma-informed approach, I provide the safe, supportive space that my clients need in order to achieve the growth and change that they seek. Having worked most recently with members of the LGBTQ community, I understand how important it is to have the acceptance and support of someone in a non-judgmental space in order to grow.

Every day is filled with parenting battles that leave you exhausted and guilt-ridden, having lost your temper too many times. You ache for a more peaceful home and a loving relationship with your child or teen, but you don’t know how to get there. General advice and tips sound good on paper but they are not working with your child, and you don’t know why. Your energy and resilience are taking a serious hit. Worst of all, you are afraid that your child will be emotionally harmed by all the turmoil that goes on from day to day.

I believe your relationship with yourself is the foundation for everything else in your life.
I believe a good match between therapist and client is a large part of what makes therapy work. I have a caring, gentle approach and I focus on building strengths and addressing past traumas. EMDR is one of the modalities I find effective in helping clients to deepen their insight and healing. I tend to tailor treatment to address what the client is struggling most with, whether that is symptoms, interpersonal issues, or past traumatic events. I also specialize in helping clients address food addiction issues in a way that is effective and non-blaming.

Therapy and the treatment of anxiety is challenging and ultimately highly rewarding work when clients receive relief from their symptoms. I value the balance of the interpersonal and relational components of the therapeutic relationship with the development of practical and evidence- based skills to achieve long lasting symptom reduction.

THE ONLY WAY OUT IS THROUGH (Robert Frost)... It is human to suffer and it is human to face challenges. When the suffering becomes too great, and the challenges too large, good therapy can play a key role in bringing about change. If you decide to work with me, I would consider it an honor to become part of your journey towards increased health and well-being. When you come to therapy, you will be treated with respect. I bring many years of experience as a therapist, providing both brief evidence-based interventions and long term psychodynamic approach. I bring over a decade of experience to my practice, where I work with a wide range of struggles. I bring special expertise to self-image/self-esteem issues, trauma, and grief. As a holistic practitioner, I don’t limit my focus to treating symptoms or replacing behaviors. I work with body, spirit, heart, and gut, offering a space where you can step into a transformed relationship with yourself. I go underneath strategies and tools to help you develop inner resources, listen to your body and nervous system, let go of what no longer serves you, and bring new energy and clarity to your most important connections.

Trauma is considered a deeply distressing or disturbing experience that can taunt the average person daily. Trauma can affect us while we are sleeping or awake; while we are home or out in the public; during a conversation, or while watching television. Sometimes we don't even realize that some of our life's experiences were traumatic and is affecting our everyday functioning, our relationship with others, and our daily encounter with society. As a result, we begin to experience thoughts and emotions that could exhibit signs of depression and anxiety, and we struggle with how to manage them.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
