I provide counseling/therapy to clients of all ages, ranging from preschool children to the elderly. My areas of specialty include: trauma, childhood sexual, emotional and physical abuse, anxiety, depression, parenting, behavioral issues, grief, loss, life transitions and aging. Cognitive behavioral, solution focused, and play / art therapy are a few of the evidence-based techniques used in counseling sessions. Through my experience working in schools, community mental health agencies, foster care and adoption services, the child welfare system and personal care/nursing facilities; I have gained a vast expertise in working with individuals and families.

As a young adult I sought out counseling to help me navigate my life's issues. It felt most beneficial when a therapist, by listening and understanding me, in a nonjudgmental, supportive and educational way, seemed to meet me where I was at both emotionally and mentally- giving me hope, the tools, the time and the motivation I needed to heal.These healing experiences gave me the desire to help others. Thus following their positive examples, I have approached everyone's treatment on an individual basis- knowing everyone is different emotionally and mentally, and are coming from different life experiences.

The role of counselors is to ensure clients feel heard, respected, and validated and, in turn offer supportive and constructive feedback to help individuals gain greater insight and understanding. Therefore, I use a mix of compassionate techniques and problem solving strategies to aid individuals in problem resolution and management of their difficulties. This enables and empowers the individual to take charge of things and have control and direction in their lifestyle.
