Hello, I am Brian J. Davis, LCSW . I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience as a therapist and 20 years of experience as a social worker. I have spent time working with a variety of populations throughout my career. I have provided mental health treatment to a vast array of clients from all different walks of life. I love this aspect of being a therapist because it has allowed me to gain perspective and understanding of so many different cultures and lifestyles. I am calm and empathetic, I believe in therapy and the power it has to help a person actualize their best self.

I am a Client-Centered therapist, which means I consider you to be the expert in your own life and I value your perspective. I will listen to your story, support you in a way that feels good to you, give you the space you need to process your feelings, and guide you towards a resolution. I utilize different counseling approaches to help you reach your goals, but I find a strengths-based approach to be particularly helpful in discovering your strengths, developing your skills, and empowering you to make the changes you seek.

My entire career, I have worked mainly with teens, young adults and families. I believe strongly in the power of the relationship and work hard to help families connect in an honest and genuine way with their kids. I have a fundamental belief that most people do their best, have good intentions and want to be loved and appreciated. With this in mind, I believe strongly in the work I do and services I offer. I provide individual, family and group therapy and focus on helping people better listen, trust and connect with one another despite the diagnosis or symptoms.

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over thirty years of experience specializing in marital and family relationships and in dismantling the black holes that minimize our lives. Whatever your marital or family situation, my experience allows me to help you develop a plan of change (one or two sessions), and then implement this plan. I serve as your Psychologist and Coaching guide from the start.

I know what it feels like to be anxious, fearful and unsure of yourself and in your relationships with others. Are you feeling stuck, sad or just not happy with your current situation or relationship? Maybe you don't have the passion you want, or your life is out of balance. Are you unclear about how you feel and what you need? I can help you to clarify your unconscious cycles to bring more passion, natural health, contentment and direction in your life and in your relationships with others. Tele-sessions are available. I use a personalized, brief focused mind body approach with EMDR techniques to get to the core of your trauma.

Counseling can be helpful when someone needs an objective person to listen, when their normal ways of coping no longer are working, or when they simply are feeling overwhelmed & hopeless. I work with people in a supportive & non-judgmental setting to explore their thoughts, feelings & relationships & in what areas they may be struggling. Together we identify one's strengths & find new, healthier, ways of thinking & behaving & outline a plan for initiating positive change in their lives. Through this supportive therapeutic relationship, we work toward sustained improvement in their everyday functioning.

Making the decision to seek the support of a therapist is a very personal process and often occurs when one wants to change an aspect of life. I work collaboratively with clients to build a trusting and compassionate therapeutic alliance, interweaving my training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Image Transformation Therapy (ImTT) with my background in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to make the counseling experience educational and empowering.

We all need a little help sometimes, and I try to create a safe, supportive environment. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families identify the resources, strengths, and resiliency they already have.
