I love working with individuals, couples, or families, and my approach is warmly personalized, collaborative, and open-minded. I work to create a brain and body approach to healing for each individual I help. I encourage seeking balance in life and helping people feel emotionally and mentally inspired. I also take a trauma-informed approach in helping others improve an understanding of themselves, their behavioral obstacles, and how these instances have affected their lives.

Counseling Alliance (TM) now offers JUMPSTART TO HEALING (R) as a way to quickly begin your healing journey. These short programs (some as short as 4 hours and others up to 2 days) are designed to produce significant changes quickly. We strive to get our clients in quickly and can often see you the next day. Please call or email if you are interested in JUMPSTART TO HEALING (R). We also offer traditional, one or two hour sessions for individuals, couples, and groups. We Are Not an Inpatient Treatment center.

I am currently only accepting new clients who are seeking help with issues related to infidelity. My clients come to me for help with their spiritual, emotional, and relational struggles. They may struggle with difficulties with anger, anxiety and depression. They may choose to get help individually, or they come in with their spouse to work on improving their relationship.

Through difficult times it is about engaging, equipping and supporting each individual throughout their journey of healing and growth. Steve's therapeutic work has focused primarily on establishing healthier roles, relationships and habits in men who struggle with sexually addictive and/or compulsive behaviors. In addition, Steve works with restoring individuals from the pain of past hurts often brought into their relationship(s). Steve's Attachment-Based, Psycho-dynamic approach to those desiring to work through personal struggles, trauma, and abuse, moves people toward healing through a foundation of respect, trust, and emotional safety without judgement.

I practice psychotherapy as a licensed clinician. Following my Bachelor's Degree, I completed a Master's Degree at Cincinnati Christian University's School of Behavioral Science. After this, I attained a clinical endorsement and then a supervisory endorsement. Studying under the HOCI Institute, I then became a developmental and relational trauma therapist. I have also completed the 2 year training at Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute in Psychotherapy. My main areas of treatment focus include trauma, emotional distress, anxiety and depression.

I have many years of experience working with early childhood trauma and severe, persistent mental illness, varying from ages of 5 years to 70+. My goal is to empower and advocate for positive change within you, as the individual, and the system as a whole. The place that we will create together is a safe and judgement free space. I work through an Existential foundation, to help those I work with seek meaning and purpose, with skills built from experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, all within the context of a trauma-informed approach.

I hope to help those that are struggling with life changes and would like support to find clarity and peace. I am passionate about working with survivors of trauma and individuals that struggle with OCD, anxiety, relationship issues, addiction, Bipolar disorders, and/or LGBTQ+ concerns. I am drawn to this quote and to counseling because I am a person who has lived through a storm or two. And, although your storm and mine may not look the same, I believe we all have common needs: to heal from something in our past, to overcome stress, fear and anxiety that makes us feel powerless and hopeless, or to navigate through an important relationship that is difficult.
