I believe in the art of slowing down, working together to mend dysregulation, and guiding my clients on the journey home to themselves. With orientations in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and compassion techniques – I aim to take incremental steps toward transformation by identifying and building off of established strengths, while discovering more depth. My method to therapy is holistic healing that encompasses a multilayer look at an individual’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

My favorite thing to do as a therapist is to see people heal the relationship they have with themselves so they can build a life that they truly love. The beliefs that we hold about ourselves are at the core of everything we think, feel, and do. When those beliefs are positive and supportive, we move through life generally feeling good and confident in our ability to accomplish our goals, build meaningful relationships, and feel fulfilled. However, when these beliefs are negative, we experience unpleasant feelings like depression and anxiety, and we engage in coping strategies that keep us from the life we truly desire to live.

I work specifically with couples who have discovered infidelity. Couples are traumatized when infidelity is discovered and the clinician needs to help the couple implement immediate steps to prevent further damage to the relationship. Counselor strategies for infidelity are much different than what a traditional counselor would utilize. When couples set up an appointment with me, they will get in quickly, and experience a specific treatment approach for infidelity. I also help couples with creating intimate communication, conflict skills, creating emotional and sexual intimacy, and increasing love and affection.

I have experience working with all types of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and complex trauma. My secondary specialties include severe chronic mental illness, relationship problems, recovery from previous domestic violence, LTGBQ+ concerns, self-harm, and developmental or attachment wounds from childhood. I continue to take continuing education classes to improve my knowledge and skills in these areas. I especially enjoy working with clients motivated to improve their lives and willing to take responsibility for their success rather than expecting others to do their work.

I have always liked this quote: "People who need help sometimes look a lot like people who don't need help." I am drawn to this quote and to counseling because I am a person who has lived through a storm or two. And, although your storm and mine may not look the same, I believe we all have common needs: to heal from something in our past, to overcome stress, fear and anxiety that makes us feel powerless and hopeless, or to navigate through an important relationship that is difficult.
