I prefer to build genuine relationships with my clients, emphasizing teamwork and encouraging your active participation in the counseling process. I specialize in treating depression and anxiety disorders, relationship issues, and life transitions. I use a collaborative process and evidence-based interventions to assist adults, teens and couples in navigating their personal journeys forward while also processing the past that brought them here. I believe that within each of us is a library of knowing. Many of my clients have resorted to addictive behaviors as a means of coping, while some engage in self-harming behaviors, which can also be considered addictive in nature. I draw on a range of approaches, including EFT, CBT, and The Gottman Method. I welcome couples interested in pre-marital counseling; those struggling with communication issues; and those coping with infidelity, addiction, co-parenting, and family-blending. I have experience serving adult clients at each level of care, including community mental health, psychiatric facilities, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), as well as private practice. My therapeutic experience includes, but is not limited to working with trauma, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, relationship issues, life transitions, and college mental health. I have experience working with all types of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and complex trauma. My secondary specialties include severe chronic mental illness, relationship problems, recovery from previous domestic violence, LTGBQ+ concerns, self-harm, and developmental or attachment wounds from childhood. I continue to take continuing education classes to improve my knowledge and skills in these areas. I especially enjoy working with clients motivated to improve their lives and willing to take responsibility for their success rather than expecting others to do their work.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specialized in sex and relationship counseling. A major focus of mine is working to improve communication skills within relationships as well as with individuals. It is important to me to provide a space where sex and sexuality can be explored safely for clients, especially when often there has not been opportunity for that to occur. I strive to provide facts and education around sex to help clients better understand themselves and normalize their experiences. Additionally, I work with clients experiencing desire discrepancies, mood disorders, sexual anxieties and sexual dysfunction.

I truly believe that we all have personal strengths that help us work through life’s difficulties. We sometimes just need others to help us identify those strengths as well as ways to utilize them to cope and find solutions. I find it a privilege to walk along side clients as they discover their strengths, heal from trauma, and work to repair relationships with self and others.
