Although it is sometimes difficult to make the first contact with a therapist if you can push through that resistance you will find an valuable source for understanding what it is that is preventing you from achieving your goals. Through the relationship; the knowledge the therapist possesses of psychological processes, the bond you will hopefully feel with this person who is your supporter and your ally but who is still able to have a neutral and honest view of your behavior you can grow and progress beyond what you can imagine.

An effective therapy experience is one that supports a person in recognizing their own capabilities and potential, while using strengths to mitigate challenges. My hope is to assist you in cultivating a deeper understanding of your own intrapsychic road map and emotional terrain. I am a firm believer that every session should give you a piece of your own puzzle and over time help you gain the skills to navigate your own thoughts, control your behavioral and emotional responses, and understand your relationship patterns and conflicts.

Modern relationships are HARD. It’s a struggle to find the right person OR to wonder if your current partner is possibly the wrong person. It’s tough when you feel burned by or totally confused about your path. Maybe you’ve even made choices or overlooked things you now regret. Or, maybe it’s a relationship with a boss or coworkers who undervalue you or play favorites with others. Your work ethic and good ideas have long taken a backseat to putting out fires or just avoiding things way more than you should. You’re past thinking that life’s fair. But, you never thought that things could go THIS wrong or get under your skin THIS much.

We are defined by our relationships. Relationship to ourselves, to others and to the world. Relationship dynamics get formed in attempts to succeed in life. Though sometimes we may succeed in relationship at certain points in life, those same dynamics can also become unproductive. At that point we can use the dynamic to understand the problem and determine the adjustments that then lead to success once again.

We work with depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, eating disorders, bereavement, BPD, autism, ADHD, addiction, sexual abuse, DV, medical illnesses, relationship problems, LGTBQ+, adjustment disorders and forensic cases.
Footprints was started by a therapist who realized that often times the services provided to low socio-economic communities is lacking quality care. We noticed these communities where confronted with long wait times, disrespectful admins, and subpar treatment. The one and only purpose was to exploit the community for profit without providing the level of care deserved. Feel Better Therapy began from the inspiration to provide quality mental health care to the poorest of communities and treating the clients of this community the same way a rich patient would be treated in a clinic treating affluent clients.

The work of life is hard, and we all have a unique innerworld shaped by our experiences, disposition, and learned behaviors that can leave us feeling really stuck. At times, we need support untangling the knot of all that we’re grappling with. Building a relationship together - one grounded in trust and honesty - can become a powerful tool for growth and healing, Regardless of your starting point, I aim to help you safely and authentically expand your capacity for thought and feeling, and along the way, support you in releasing shame, discovering empowerment, breaking unhelpful patterns, and gaining more control over your emotions.

My practice’s core is built around attachment, the foundation of my work stemming from the belief that the therapeutic relationship can heal what has been harmed in past relationships.
Coming to therapy for the first time can be difficult. You have already taken a huge leap by reaching out for help. As a therapist, my job is to provide and facilitate a space where they can listen and learn from themselves. A space that is non-judgemental and authentic, where healing can take place. I am always inspired by my client’s ability to make connections about how their adult self is influenced by their past. Making these connections is what breaks patterns and creates change.

WHY THERAPY? Finding a therapist or counselor can be an anxiety-provoking pursuit. In my experience, people seek treatment for a wide variety of reasons, such as depression, anxiety/stress, relationship problems, parenting difficulties, low self-esteem, and so on. Seeking therapy is an act of maturity and strength! It says that you recognize that you are unhappy or dissatisfied with some aspect of your life and that you ultimately want to function and feel better.

Common issues I have worked with include anxiety, self-limiting beliefs, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, anger, grief, life transitions, shame, and finding meaning.
Are you struggling with anxiety, self-defeating behaviors, shame, depression, or holding onto painful feelings and memories? Do you feel you don't truly understand yourself, your friends, your spouse, or your partner? Together, you and I can explore and help you recognize your true, deep-rooted feelings and help you resolve them. By looking into our beliefs, emotions, early-life experiences, and thoughts, we can recognize recurring patterns and develop proper coping mechanisms to avoid our distress and move forward.

I work with clients on whatever issues they are having. Common issues often include anxiety, depression, relationship concerns and life transitions. I work with all age groups, from children through "senior citizens," and have training and experience working with diverse populations. I believe it is one of my strengths as a psychologist and a person that I welcome and appreciate each person for his/her uniqueness. This includes being sensitive and open to cultural, racial and sexual orientations different from my own, as well as having an appreciation for clients who come from backgrounds similar to mine.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
