Psychotherapy is hard work and finding a relationship you can trust is crucial.
Many of us at one time or another need the help of an experienced therapist. Are you spending most days not feeling good, suffering from mood swings, anxiety or depression? Are you or your family/peers concerned about your drinking? Perhaps you are stuck, like "super glue" to old damaging behavior patterns, which can spell doom for a satisfying relationship. Have you reached a point in your life where you need help moving forward? If you have tried everything and nothing has worked, perhaps it's time to see a licensed therapist.

I believe that psychotherapy is very useful in connecting deeply with oneself and subsequently with others. Anxiety and depression are often related to faulty coping mechanisms developed in childhood that lead to painful relationships. Being happy in work and love are the pillars of a rewarding and fulfilled life and therapy makes this possible.

I have spoken at international and national conferences and also on television, film, and radio about mental health treatment, addictions, and relationship issues.
Therapy is a journey through which we find our authentic selves and become the best we can be. I have expertise in working with alcoholism, addictions, and recovery issues; and with relationship, couple and family issues. I have worked in the field for over twenty years. I work with adults and adolescents, in individual, couple and family modalities. My approach is to meet you where you are, and to help you to move towards your goals, overcome obstacles, and achieve maximum growth. I use several therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and strengths-based techniques. Website: practicaltherapy.net.

I work with individuals and couples and have experience with many presenting issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief & loss, career development & life transitions, trauma & PTSD, addictions, chronic pain, and low self esteem.
In my practice, I believe it is the relationship you share with a therapist that drives growth, change and relief from the symptoms that lead you to seek out therapy. Above all, for your therapy to be successful, you must feel safe, supported and understood. For many people, the hardest part of starting is making that first phone call to ask for help. From the beginning, I strive to meet you where you are and make a meaningful connection, so we can actively work together to help you feel better.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
