My clinical focus is on individuals struggling with depression, stress/anxiety, OCD, substance abuse, adjustment to life transitions, relationship distress, and parenting support. I believe that it is important to understand what brings each person into therapy, and tailor therapy to each individual's unique needs and goals. I offer sessions via telehealth/video and in person in our Woodstock location, so that you can participate in therapy from where you are most comfortable.

I specialize in Health Psychology with an emphasis on helping individuals who have experienced major medical events and acute/chronic medical difficulties or changes. I understand how scary such changes and adjustments can be, and am here to help you process and move forward with your life. I also am experienced in treating anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, functional disorders, mood swings and bipolar disorders, relationship challenges, grief, and struggles specific to those with neurodevelopment differences such as autism.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Illinois. I received my doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. I have worked with clients of all ages and have extensive experience treating those with mood disorders and those who have experienced trauma. My approach is fundamentally humanistic. Through my own life experience and work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has proven to bring about great resolve. I believe the therapeutic relationship to be of the utmost importance. A "Good fit" is ideal and should be sought as well as treatment tailored to an individuals needs.

I truly believe that all humans have the capacity to heal, adapt and transform our lives. When given the right tools and support, we become empowered for change. The primary focus of my practice is support individuals as they work to cope and heal from complex trauma, addictive behaviors, and codependency. I strive to nurture and empower my clients without enabling. I am neurodivergent-affirming and support my clients in developing feeling understandings of themselves. I have been working in the field for over 30 years in a variety of settings including inpatient, partial programs and outpatient private practice. I work with adolescents and adults in individual, marital, family and group counseling. My husband and I started our own group practice in 2004. I work primarily with individuals who are desiring freedom from trauma: past and present; personal and collective. I lead and facilitated trauma-focused therapy story groups, and consultation story groups for individuals with advanced training in narrative story engagement. I also do intensive trainings in Narrative Story work.
