Hello, my name is Rocky Mays and I am currently accepting new clients. I have a sliding scale depending on household income ranging from $80-$130. I offer in-person and virtual appointments in the afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays. I specialize in working with teens, adults, parents, veterans, seniors, and couples on a wide range of identified concerns. I am currently a counselor for the Federal Government. My experiences also include working with youth in the justice system, providing clinical services for treatment centers, and working with veterans and their families struggling with various conditions.

My hours are 10:30AM to 5:15PM Sundays And 12:15PM to 6:15 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but contact me anytime. I know it can be overwhelming to pick the right person and make the first phone call or email, and I want to make it easy for you. I work primarily with teens and adults. I connect well with teenagers that may be hesitant to attend therapy. I also have a lot of success working with men and women dealing with relationship issues.

I am a Certified Gottman Therapist using research based interventions with couples that really work! If you are having difficulties in your life with relationships or your marriage I will help you gain knowledge that can transform your relationships into what you would like them to be. It is only through self knowledge that change can take place. While helping with your relationship, I can also help with your sex life as well as a Certified AASECT Sex Therapist. This is an area of our life that we are taught to keep private and quiet. But, don't suffer in silence.

Sometimes we need help navigating our journey, and therapy is great place to start! After having worked as a school counselor at the grade school level for nine years, and at the high school level for fifteen, I transitioned to working with adults in a clinical setting, twelve years ago. I have experience in meeting with people to work through relationship issues, process emotions, and learn new tools for dealing with anxiety, depression, and stress.

I work with clients to identify their strengths and past successes to determine what changes they can make to improve their current situation. I believe in the client’s ability to solve their own problems and direct their lives in a way that is meaningful to them. I enjoy being a facilitator in this process.

I am committed to helping those who struggle with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship issues. My personal story is one that led me on a journey of exploration and has contributed to what I have to offer as your counselor. I am also an LGBTQ ally and offer an inclusive space.
