I work with adults of all genders in individual therapy using a supportive, accepting style, helping you accept yourself and learn practical relationship and communication skills.
Suffering can come in many forms. It is personal and distressing and can also be overwhelming, paralyzing, and lonely. But you do not have to face it alone. Many have come to me for help with what makes them unhappy and out of balance. I take satisfaction when my clients accept their own complexity and uniqueness and have successful outcomes in their lives due to therapy.

As a queer Asian therapist, I know too well how difficult it is to find a therapist who understands your experience. I am here to make the process a bit easier for you. You may be experiencing emotional difficulties regarding your queer, racial, and other intersectional identities or feeling disconnected from your partner(s) because of an endless cycle of misunderstanding each other in your romantic relationships. I can help you find your more authentic voice in your relationship with your sense of self and with your loved ones.

Seeking support for yourself and/or child requires courage and humility. I strive to provide each of my clients with a safe, comforting, and non-judgmental environment where we can build a therapeutic alliance based on trust. When we experience emotional safety, and the basic need of being seen and heard, we can begin to understand our ourselves more deeply. My style is warm, interpersonal, collaborative, and challenging at times, focusing mainly on our relationship in order to promote long-term fulfillment.

Psychotherapy is an honest relationship.
We all struggle at times to learn from life and to become our best selves. As a young man I pursued a variety of strategies, healthy and unhealthy, to cope with my own struggles. I think we all do that. When I entered into psychotherapy for the first time I found the help that I needed to learn and to grow and to overcome the struggles that had been so overwhelming for me. I became a psychologist to pass on what had been so helpful for me.

I work with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ adults who are experiencing imposter syndrome, first-gen issues, relationship challenges, and identity exploration. My approach is non-judgmental, collaborative, casual, and sometimes humorous. Together, we'll explore how your experiences, beliefs, and relational style have been shaped by your social identities, cultural contexts, and the systems you're a part of (e.g. family, work, community). My goal is to co-create an affirming space where you can openly discuss your stressors, preferences, questions, and everything in between.

It is often best to meet for an initial meeting to determine whether a mutual working relationship can be established.
I am a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. My approach to psychotherapy is referred to as psychoanalytic or insight-oriented therapy. This type of therapy stresses that each person and their difficulties are unique. And that our difficulties are often rooted in factors outside of our awareness. People seek therapy for a situation that requires attention, and in my experience this generally concerns multiple and interacting problems rather than isolated symptoms. As therapy progresses the immediate feelings of distress typically diminish in severity. It then becomes possible to focus on understanding the factors that contributed to

Do you find yourself repeating the same relationship patterns again and again in different relationships? The key to changing that is healing the underlying trauma.
Are you struggling with relationships? Are you having the same fight with your partner over and over? Have you lost the emotional connection you used to have? Intimate relationships touch our deepest relational wounds. That's why we can be overwhelmed with the pain they bring and often, at points, feel like giving up. We can heal those wounds and help each other in that process. The kind of couples therapy/marriage counseling and individual therapy that I provide combines deep experiential work with teaching, coaching and practicing many specific relational skills that will set you up for success in all your relationships.

Are you longing for healing, transformation or a more trusting sense of self and more fulfilling life? My approach to counseling and psychotherapy with individuals and couples is holistic, creative and embodied, within a framework of Jungian psychology and creative arts therapy. With 20 plus years of clinical experience, I welcome individuals and couples struggling with life transitions, relationships, family matters, career or low self-worth, or who suffer from anxiety, depression, loss and grieving, questions of meaning or their intimate sense of spirituality. Having grown up in France and Germany, I also enjoy working with those whose mother tongue is German or French.

Our relationships with the people we care for most impact every moment of our day-to-day lives. The more we know ourselves, the better we can show up in our relationships. I help clients understand their interpersonal relationship dynamics, family systems, attachment styles, and, most importantly, their relationship with themselves. I've worked with clients to build confidence by deepening their understanding of emotions, communication styles, and self-love. I've also supported clients in negotiating how past trauma impacts their present lives and integrating those experiences.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
