Having been a psychotherapist for more than 25 years, I approach each new therapeutic relationship with the utmost curiosity and fascination about how unique every person is. Humility and profound respect for the individual remain at the center of my work. I believe that being true to ourselves is essential to our well being. To live authentically requires getting to know yourself and creating fulfilling relationships with others who honor that truth.

I especially pay attention to the relationship that develops over time between myself and clients as it can often provide a very rich growth experience.
Our capacity to connect, both with ourselves (i.e. our passions, feelings, and body) and with others, is crucial to our feelings of well-being. When we connect, we generally feel a sense of aliveness in ourselves and the world. When we can't connect, we feel anxious, isolated, empty, or depressed. I feel my job is to help clients to more fully connect to the range of their experiences. I help adults and adolescents explore why they lose connection. I help them identify, understand, and overcome the deep root of their disconnection. I help them find well-being, which gives me great joy.

Or, you may be guided to end a relationship that is no longer working.
I see couples and individuals who are suffering and struggling in their relationships and may be considering divorce, separation, or acting out in some destructive manner such as having affairs, doing risky behavior, or using addictive behaviors to numb their emotional pain.

Good therapy is built on a relationship of warmth, empathy, and curiosity; where we will learn from one another.
Part of our work together will center around separating who you think you "should" be from who you are. We will collaborate to help you cultivate a more authentic version of yourself, promoting a rich landscape for change to occur. Our society prioritizes individualism and fleeting connection over deeply intimate relationships. Together we will consider ways to cultivate more meaningful connections that inspire vulnerability and intimacy and build awareness around the fears and conflicts hindering your ability to do so. We will identify your relationship needs and further develop the skills to better communicate them to others.

Are you seeking a more loving, connected, and meaningful relationship with yourself and others? Do you struggle with depression, anxiety, and overwhelm? Or coping mechanisms like perfectionism and procrastination that keep you stuck in the same patterns? We can find a way out, together. Symptoms have a deeper story to tell, and I want to listen. Therapy is an invitation to return to your innate sense of wholeness; to acknowledge, accept, and integrate the varied parts of yourself. Working with me can bring a clearer sense of self, authenticity, and ease.

I have experience working with adults, teens, and young adults who are going through life transitions, struggling with depression, self esteem, anxiety, relationship issues and more.
Starting therapy can be both exciting and relieving, as well as initially daunting. Many people avoid therapy for fear of judgement, not thinking their issues are "that bad", or are afraid of facing themselves. When there's avoidance or lack of help, these problems tend to keep getting worse. I believe that therapy is all about creating a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space where we can work together to help you shift your mindset, make better choices, and improve aspects of your life that may not be working. My approach is all about working as a team to help you reach your personal goals.

The therapeutic process is about attunement and connection. My style is empathetic, warm, and curious. I enjoy working with creative people who are dealing with relationship issues, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and those who are ready to process experiences of trauma. I utilize a psychoanalytic approach which means I like to collaborate with the client in an exploration of their history to better understand themselves. I also work relationally and intersubjectively which means that together we will explore how the unconscious plays out within the therapeutic relationship.

Whether you’re struggling with relationship, parenting or family woes, life cycle transitions, trauma, depression or anxiety, I’m confident we can work together to help you face and overcome these challenges so you are free and empowered to design a life you want to live.
You look put together, present yourself well, but are privately struggling. Your problems may not be immediately apparent to others, but internally you have a hard time with accepting yourself, being present in your life, and with finding joy. You work hard and are constantly juggling an array of tasks, but your relationships are sluggish and you feel overwhelmed and disconnected. You may be struggling with parenting and wonder why your intimate relationships, or the lack thereof, are so damn hard. You do not feel content and question whether you're good enough to do life well.

I aim to meet you where you are mentally and emotionally and help you grow, learn skills, and adapt to new changes. We can work together to identify your goals and needs and address the emotional and behavioral challenges you experience.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
