I work with individuals and couples on issues including, loneliness and loss, anxiety/depression, addiction recovery, with a special focus on self-esteem, career, personal fulfillment, and relationship intimacy.
I specialize in Adult Counseling, Couples Counseling, Teen Counseling and Men's Issues. I offer my life experience as a former executive, coach, husband, and father along with my passion for helping people live meaningful lives. I left a successful career as a business executive in order to become a therapist. I chose this because I experienced first-hand how the pressures of life can take a severe toll on emotional wellbeing. I saw many others struggling with life challenges too, and my own growth through therapy has instilled within me a desire to help.

Particular areas of focus: women's wellness, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, parenting, parent/child relationships, stress reduction, trauma, and self-care.
My first priority is helping you feel comfortable. Research has shown that the number one most helpful aspect of therapy is having a strong therapeutic relationship where you feel supported, heard, and understood. I strive to meet you where you're at in your life process. My style is client-centered, and I tailor my services to you, focusing on what you decide you want and need to gain from therapy. I am strength-based in my approach; together we will identify what's working in your life and what strengths we can build on to help you achieve your goals, strengthen your relationships, and feel your best.

I specialize in mind-body healing for adult individuals and couples, particularly with survivors of childhood trauma. Do you have overwhelming feelings or numbness? Do you have anxiety, depression, or PTSD? Are you struggling with coping mechanisms that cause you pain? Is your relationship in crisis? Many do not know childhood hurts can live on for a lifetime somatically in the nervous system and emotions. The natural ability to find peace inside and connection with others simply becomes less flexible, but all of this can shift. We work with what happens in the present to see real change - as an individual or couple.

The word "metamorphosis" refers to the process of transformation, a transformation of both mind and spirit that can lead to positive and often dramatic changes in one’s life. Here at metamorphis-therapy, it is my belief that the relationship that develops between client and therapist is the foundation on which all else is built. My genuine empathy and compassion, combined with my intuitive and nurturing approach, create the safe space for us to uncover blockages and heal past wounds or traumas, thus allowing individuals to flourish.

I work from a collaborative perspective, where the relationship between you and me is the brave space for you to explore and rehearse being who you are meant to be, so that you can do that in the ‘real world’.
Hey there, Grace here! Are you feeling lost and uncertain in the midst of anxious and negative thoughts? Are you struggling to discern and really listen to what you want and need instead of who you should be? Are you feeling the weight of your histories and want to find a way to feel lighter and more at peace? Therapy with me is an intentional time for you to rest, reflect, and grow. My specialties include: navigating major life transitions (immigration, divorce/break-ups, career changes etc.), working with creatives, religious deconstruction/decolonisation, multiculturality and third-culture kids/adults.

My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can feel seen, heard and accepted. I believe it is the relationship between client and therapist where so much of the work happens. We can work collaboratively to explore relational patterns, understand the connection between thoughts, emotions and behavior, and get curious about what may be holding you back from a deeper connection to self and others.

I provide a trusting relationship in which you can find meaningful life change.
"Feeling connected and understood is one of the greatest gifts of therapy. Another is not feeling alone as you face the burden of your personal struggle. I am here to listen, encourage, and acknowledge you. Together we can discover how to reduce your anxiety and depression. We can grieve your losses and you will learn how to trust in your ability to move forward. Whether it is the violation of health issues, the breakup from a relationship, or the persistent wounds of childhood, life can be different and more meaningful. There is hope and possibility."

My professional experience includes helping individuals, children, and families dealing with depression, anxiety, substance use, relationship issues, trauma related issues, and parenting difficulties.
With all life's pressures sometimes we put our own needs aside. This can manifest itself anywhere from burn out to anxiety and depression. My goals as a therapist are to provide a safe and supportive environment in order to help improve and nurture healthier relationships for my clients. I will work with you to discover, and uncover, the things that get in your way personally and/or professionally and help you gain a better understanding and acceptance of yourself.

*ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS* The fight you had last night was bad. Really bad. Your relationship is in trouble. Your marriage is unraveling. You know when you walk through the door, you’re going to have to finish having “that conversation.” The one you never finished last night because you both needed to “sleep on it.” The one that you know is just going to end with arguing, shouting, crying, and someone walking out of the door. The same argument you’ve been having for years. The one that keeps you awake thinking, "Marriage isn’t supposed to be like this. Other couples don’t fight this much right?"

As a psychologist with over 20 years of experience, I seek to provide a nonjudgmental and nurturing environment in which you can explore your current struggles. I believe that the therapist client relationship is critical to help you effect the positive change you are looking for. Together we can explore the patterns in your life that are preventing you from living the life you want and we can work to set realistic goals. Although I am trained using a psychodynamic approach, I also utilize DBT and mindfulness to help clients cope with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and other mental health concerns.

In our group practice, we work with adults, couples and adolescents and have specialized training in the following areas: partner/relationship dynamics, EMDR, communication issues, anxiety, depression, self-injury, grief and loss, life transitions, codependency, trauma, LGBTQ+ and Queer/non-binary issues.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, so it's important you feel a comfortable connection with a therapist. Maybe you're here because you need resolution or support. Whether you know exactly what the issue is - anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, grief, codependency - or you're not quite sure what's bothering you, I am deeply committed to therapy being a collaborative process aimed at finding what helps. My clients tell me they appreciate how engaged and direct I am, but also how I use humor, compassion and patience in our work. My intention is to create an environment where you feel safe to explore and my goal is for you to feel relief.

I specialize in treating adults with: Relationship & Couples Issues, Trauma and PTSD, and Mood & Generalized Anxiety Disorders, Our emotions and feelings take a toll when they go unaddressed, affecting our relationships, self-worth and general life satisfaction. So often, these emotional problems stem from our family-of-origin and intergenerational traumas & wounds. While we can feel that something is wrong, the path to healing, recovery and health can feel messy and out-of-reach. Our feelings are not a reflection of reality because we can experience freedom from the dysfunctional patterns in our lives.

I assist clients in developing insight into patterns within their behavior and relationships that are unsuccessful for them. Since these patterns are often shaped by the clients past, this is also something we explore. This awareness, combined with learning new ways of thinking and behaving, helps clients develop more effective and satisfying reactions, relationships and life choices. Believing in an individualized therapy approach, I develop a treatment plan unique to the needs and circumstances of each person. Within a supportive, accepting therapy relationship, the client gradually discovers their authentic self in a manner that helps to resolve their initial questions and concerns.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
