I have been a therapist for 20 years. I have also been a client. As a client I enjoy the process of working on my relationship to self and others, processing the wounds and effects of childhood, and working to improve my ability to live in the moment with contentment, presence, and acceptance. For me therapy helps me to be intimate, to listen, and to practice loving kindness. It is an important part of my spiritual growth and over all self-improvement. This is what I enjoy with my clients… being part of their life’s journey of contentment and meaning, away from fear and always working toward love.

A strong, trusting relationship with the therapist is the most important thing to have in order to achieve the full benefits that therapy has to offer.
My passion is providing therapy to individuals and families to help them have greater joy in their life and relationships and to overcome painful feelings and life experiences. Have you ever felt a negative emotion for long periods of time? Anger, sadness, worry, fear, guilt, or shame? Have these feelings been combined with negative thoughts that play over and over in your mind, no matter how hard you try not to think about them? Did these thoughts and feelings begin after a life event or experience. Or, did they seem to come out of nowhere? Either way, if you are looking for support and relief I am here to help.

Issues may be present for you that you not sure how to address, and you may be hesitant to seek help. I am a former professor of psychology for the University of Phoenix. As a therapist, a teacher and also as having had my own therapy for a number of years, I have learned that taking the first step and admitting a problem is always the hardest step to take. Do not hesitate and do not let fear keep you from taking that crucial first step; call or write me or another therapist of your choosing and do obtain the help that you may need.

My professional background began in the financial services industry. I spent well over a decade climbing the corporate ladder and I ultimately became a managing director and equity partner of a successful capital management firm in the Los Angeles area. Although I had reached goals and achieved significant professional success, I also experienced a lack of personal fulfillment from my career. I enjoyed my job, my clients, and my colleagues, but at the same time I felt that something was missing. At that time, it was my own experience in therapy that helped me grow to redefine what success truly means.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
