I work with clients 18 years of age or older. I only speak English but have worked with clients who have provided a translator. I work with individuals, couples, and families and periodically facilitate support/discussion groups. Areas of clinical practice include Complicated/Disenfranchised Grief, Mood Disorders, Phase of Life Issues, Process/Substance Addiction Assessment and Treatment, Anger/Impulse Control Issues, and Relationship Counseling.

I believe therapy can be an extremely vulnerable experience. I take a holistic approach to therapy, recognizing and empowering the mind-body connection. I believe my clients are the expert of their life, and my role is to provide support and a safe environment to meet them where they are at. I work with individuals and couples who are dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, family dynamics, and trauma. My goal is to empower my clients to practice self-compassion, lean into vulnerability, strengthen resilience, and create a meaningful relationship with self and others.

Trauma, addiction, and other personal stressors can feel overwhelming and confusing when confronted alone. Together, the client and therapist can work toward healing, growth, and change. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings helping clients resolve complicated issues in their personal and professional lives. I have an extensive background in treating addiction as it pertains to the individual and the family. Additionally, my work has focused on codependency, men's and women's issues, trauma/PTSD, relationship stress, and developing healthy communication with others. I also work with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I provide individual and family counseling to adolescents and adults to address depression, anxiety, life changes, anger, mood disorders, and relationship problems. I have experience working with Intensive In-Home Services, Life Skill Coaching, and Crisis Intervention and Stabilization services with both private agencies and the Community Service Board. I believe that everyone has the ability to change or expand their character with the right tools and strategies to excel in life.

I created Associated Counselors of Tidewater 20 years ago with the sole intent to help people in emotional crisis. Couples that are having difficulties in their relationship with communicating and/or connecting on an emotionally intimate level creates a myriad of stressors in life. Learning new, effective communication tools, understanding how to reconnect consistently long-term, and establishing genuine empathy and a deep appreciate and emotional connection for a couple are key components to a loving relationship.
