Finding the right therapist is the most important part of the therapeutic relationship.
I believe that everyone has the capacity to accomplish their goals. My role is to help you uncover and understand the obstacles and trauma that are getting in the way of achieving what you desire, and then help you tap into your inner resources to succeed. With empathy and authenticity, I work alongside my clients to promote healing and discovery of their power to change. Whether you are experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, grief and loss; problems with relationships, parenting, or self-esteem; or a general sense of disconnectedness – whatever it is – I recognize that therapy is self-work, and it's not easy.

Maybe a recent loss, heartbreak, or impending change has you shaken. Perhaps you have checked all the boxes and reached all the milestones but still lack joy or a sense of purpose. Maybe you long to change a repetitive problem at work or in your relationships but don't know what will help. Research consistently shows that the therapist-client relationship is central in determining the effectiveness of therapy. As a graduate psychoanalyst, I have had extensive training and experience in understanding how to harness the power of the therapy relationship to effect the greatest relief from suffering and promote the greatest growth.

I realize that for an individual to take the first steps toward looking inward at various psychological conflicts may be an anxiety-provoking process in and of itself, may even be a sense of relief, or a combination of the two. Through my professional training and experience in various treatment settings, I have had the honor to work with individuals and provide them the respect, privacy, and confidentiality that I believe every human being deserves. I focus on providing a safe, trusting, and confidential environment in which one may gain insight and understanding and ultimately grow through this therapeutic relationship.

I provide psychotherapy to adults and adolescents addressing a broad range of concerns, including depression and anxiety; relationship issues; identity concerns; family issues; and life transitions.
We all experience challenging times when we don’t feel like ourselves. We may feel stuck, lost, or experience the same unsatisfying relationships. Engaging in therapy, with the right therapist, can help. Within a supportive and collaborative relationship, I actively work with my clients to better understand themselves and their relationships; to acquire healthy coping strategies; and to achieve an enhanced sense of well-being. I am flexible, tailoring the therapy according to the needs of each client. I bring an integrative approach to psychotherapy that includes insight-oriented work, practical interventions, and cognitive/behavioral techniques, all within a nurturing relationship.

My specialties include sexual and relationship difficulties, divorce, relationship transitions, and addressing the aftermath of affairs.
My primary focus is on helping couples and individuals with sexual issues. In working with couples, I find dissatisfaction with partnered sex is often linked to deeper relationship difficulties and the two can be intertwined. In other instances, the therapeutic focus is primarily on enhancing technique and increasing desire rather than improving the relationship. I also work individually with women to eliminate barriers to sexual wellness and increase acceptance. I enjoy working with gay, lesbian, and heterosexual clients and have respect for sexual fluidity and variance in erotic interest.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
