Depression, anxiety, or a lack of self-confidence and self-esteem can cause or be caused by many factors, such as personal history, relationship issues or work-related situations. Sometimes therapy, counseling, coaching or a combination of the above can help. Whether with a loved one, a parent, a child, or a job-related issue, we all need help sometimes. For over twenty years, I have create a warm, nurturing professional environment in which individuals, couples, stepfamilies and families of developmentally disabled people can be helped to find better ways of coping with their emotional and relationship issues.

As a therapist, my special interests are working with clients struggling with Post-Partum, Eating, Family/Relationship, Depression, and Anxiety-related issues. Clients I work with are mentally and emotionally open and seeking to gain perspective, detect and work on their own maladaptive patterns/habits, and receive support. I have found strong alliances with clients who are insight-oriented, and who are seeking to turn their existential questions to practical solutions as they are analyzing themselves and their world. I believe each individual is greater than the sum of their parts- a disposition guiding my practice.

Since the age of eight, I have regularly attended counseling, and it saved me. Decades later, counseling has become my calling--my desire to share the techniques that help us cope with the forces in our lives we cannot control. As a natural advocate of mental, physical, and spiritual health, I also teach yoga regularly. I believe that we reach a state of peace, when we take our lives into our own hands. My mission is to help you build your individual strength, gain insight, and develop effective ways of coping with life and relationships.

Working together I can help in overcoming personal struggles caused by painful experiences, unhealthy relationships and poor self esteem. Learning to see ourselves through a healthy perspective instead of our criticisms and insecurities can help in creating a healthier approach to overcome the obstacles that prevent us from enjoying a fulfilling life.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
